A famous landmark in the heart of Stone Town is the ancient house of this
infamous slave trader. Having undoubtedly had many other occupants since then,
it has lost any traces of it’s sinister past and is similar to many other
enchanting street vistas around it. Fortunately this is one of the areas of
the town that is being carefully kept in it’s original state and has
survived the onslaught of gaudy signs and satellite dishes to which many other
parts have succumbed.
